Paint shops NEW

Industries worldwide are under increased pressure to reduce pollution

VOC and toxic air emissions from paint and coating lines are among the leading environmental concerns. Together with a major German car manufacturer, INFUSER, in 2016, will commence the testing of a new system based on INFUSER technologies that shall reduce the VOC emission from painting lines while vastly improving mass-balance.

Technical principle:
INFUSER’s CLIMATIC system uses a combination of scrubbers and Gas Phase Advanced Oxidation (GPAO) to remove pollution from foundries. GPAO imitates and accelerates the natural self-cleaning mechanisms of the Earth’s atmosphere in a closed reactor system, and captures emissions before they pollute the environment.

By eliminating the need to force air through static filters with limited capacity, the system avoids large pressure differences and can therefore purify air using significantly less energy than conventional methods. Energy consumption can also be optimised because the treatment system can be actively tuned to match the load. Initially, ozone is mixed with the polluted exhaust. The mixture is irradiated with high intensity UV light which transforms ozone into OH radical molecules. These are extremely reactive towards most pollutants, transforming these into aerosol particles which may be filtered off using an electrostatic precipitator. As a final treatment stage, a catalyst removes residual ozone.

Intelligent power management system:
It is a unique feature of the CLIMATIC for paint shops that the system only uses the amount of energy required to clean the pollution at any time – the CLIMATIC will go into sleep mode when the pollution is below the threshold emission levels. Sensors can be placed in the production sending a signal to the CLIMATIC when the pollution load increases, the CLIMATIC will then within 7 seconds be at full power

Often asked questions

What are the waste products from the CLIMATIC system?
The only waste is water, but compounds are partly or fully oxidizes in the vapor phase

Will the CLIMATIC system clean the particles in the intake?
The air has to be treated with a cyclone or similar before it reaches the CLIMATIC

Is it difficult to change the modifications of the CLIMATIC if the emission changes?
The CLIMATIC is based on a modular design the order and amount of modules can easily be refitted

Can there be indirect toxic reactions?
The emission air will always be tested in order to identify possible indirect reactions

Will the CLIMATIC always work?
The only limiting factor is there are over 40times more carbon-monoxides than hydrocarbons in the emission.

How often does the system require service?
It is recommended that the system is serviced every 3 month

How often does the system need to be cleaned?
The cleaning and maintenance is dependent on the type and amount of pollution. But, most installation requires cleaning twice per month.
